The unimaginably vast expanse of the universe makes it harder for us to picture a loving creator throughout it all. So we have to shift from linear (God is up) thinking to circular (God is in the centre) thinking. We look inward more than upward to see God.

Close to the Father’s Heart

This follows up on the heart theme at Christmas. We spoke of the heart of Christmas. Now, in a way, we can speak of Christ as one in whom we see the heart of God. This living from the heart of God is part of the way of wisdom. So this is a new year's message, pointing us toward the way of wisdom for the living of the coming year.
