Jesus Teaches

  • 1 Thessalonians 5: 12-28 — "Exhortations, Greetings, and Benedictions"
We all have questions, and like the disciples who have followed Jesus those questions always lead to more questions. Paul reminds us, through his letter to the Thessalonians, that Jesus taught us to be patient, resist evil, rejoice always, pray without ceasing and test everything. Keep asking questions and keep asking yourself what is worth following?

Jesus Heals

Scripture: Ephesians 2: 1-10

 Sermon: Jesus Heals
Jesus was known by his amazing deeds of healing. He healed by word and touch and at time seems to say he did not heal anyone but that the healed brought it about by their faith. How do we deepen the gift of faith so as to heal our relationships and our world? How is the eternal Christ healing today? listen view

Jesus Gathers

  • Ephesians 4: 1-16 — "Unity in Christ"
This is the Sunday when we celebrate our faith, when we take time to acknowledge where we are on our faith journey. Paul begs the people in Ephesians to not only answer God's call but to live a life worthy of that calling. To do this we must live with humility, patience, gentleness, and love. We have been given gifts, now let's share them with love.

This was a whole family worship service so there was no formal sermon. It was an interactive exploration of the scripture.

The Spirit Reveals, Pentecost

Acts 2: 1-4 and Romans 8: 18-39 — "The Spirit Intercedes for us"
The gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was not its birth but its revelation! Wisdom had always called and been heard. Jesus’ news was only that this Spirit – part of God’s very creativity and Creation – is also an Advocate and the part of God that reveals God’s current activity in the world. How can one see God at work in what we call Providence, today?
